Overview
API V3 is now available in Open Beta. It's a newer version of the Element451 API, built for developers, partners, and AI agents that connect outside systems to Element451. Today it covers over 65 actions across contacts, admissions decisions, organizations, labels, tasks, and reference lists. V3 runs alongside the existing V2 API, and both work with the same Element451 records.
Details
Contact lookups: Look up contacts one at a time or as a list, including their notes, checklists, journeys, and workflows.
Contact upserts: Create or update a contact by matching on an ID from another system, such as a student ID from your SIS. Contacts can't be deleted through V3.
Admissions decisions: Create, view, and update decisions, including reviewer notes, checklist items, scoring, tags, watchers, and the decision package.
Organizations and labels: Create, view, update, and delete organizations (plus their members, notes, and IDs) and labels.
Task list: View the task list. Creating and updating tasks isn't available yet.
Reference lists: Look up campuses, degrees, majors, and terms. These are read-only.
Access: V3 needs a valid API key and your school's feature token. The key acts as the person who created it, so that person's permission group controls what the key can do.
V2 stays in place: Existing V2 integrations keep working. Applications, events, appointments, campaigns, segments, and imports and exports remain on V2 for now.
Benefit
Your developer can sync contacts with your SIS or pull admissions decisions using documented routes built for outside use, instead of routes designed for the Element451 app.
