Scheduled Application Availability + Redesigned Application Settings | September 2026

Applications now open and close on their own, with a scheduling window for each intake, annual recurrence, and Late Submission Rules. Every setting also moved into the left-hand navigation.

Overview Header

Applications can now open and close automatically on scheduled dates. A new Availability page is the single source of truth for when an application accepts submissions, and it lets you add a separate scheduling window for each intake, repeat a window every year, and allow selected applicants to submit after a window closes. Application status becomes a computed, read-only state with four values: Inactive, Scheduled, Active, and Closed.

This release also reorganizes the application builder: every setting that used to sit behind the pencil icon now lives in the left-hand navigation, grouped into Steps, Content, and Settings. Several settings have been renamed or combined as part of that move.

The Availability Page

  • One place for availability: a new Availability item under Settings is, in its own words, the single source of truth for when this application accepts submissions. It holds two cards, Status and Schedule.

  • Your existing settings moved here: Active, Allow New Registrations, Registration Rate Limit, and the international students setting all behave exactly as they did before. They are now grouped on the Status card rather than spread across the old settings sheet.

  • Active now feeds a computed state: switching Active off means the computed status is Inactive and no one can submit, regardless of the dates you have scheduled. Active used to be the status itself; it is now one input into it.

Scheduling Windows

  • A window for each intake: the Schedule card holds one or more named windows, so a single application can carry separate fall, spring, and summer intakes instead of being edited between terms. Each window shows its own status next to its name.

  • Open and close dates and times: every window has Open Date, Open Time, Close Date, and Close Time. Leave a field empty to keep that end open-ended. The timezone the card is using is shown at the top right.

  • Repeats annually: switch this on and the window recurs on the same dates every year, so an annual nursing intake does not need re-dating each cycle.

Late Submission Rules

  • Let a specific group submit after a window closes: each window has its own Late Submission Rules, which allow selected applicants to submit after that window has closed.

  • Scoped to the window, not the application: rules belong to the window they sit inside, so a late exception on your fall intake does not affect spring.

  • Active until the next window opens: a closed window stays current until the following window begins, which is what keeps its rules working past the close date. Once the next window starts, the late submission grace ends.

Read-Only Status with Four States

  • Computed status replaces the manual toggle: the header chip and the All Applications index now show the same computed state, one of Inactive, Scheduled, Active, or Closed, instead of a manually set Active/Inactive control.

  • Status follows the dates, not the rules: the computed state is calculated from your open and close dates alone. An application whose window has closed reads Closed even when a Late Submission Rule still allows a matched group to submit.

Redesigned Application Settings Navigation

  • Settings moved into the left-hand navigation: every setting previously reached through the pencil/edit icon now appears in a Settings area in the main navigation.

    • Content: Dashboard, Application Registration Form, Submission Form, Information Requests, Supplemental Forms

    • Settings: General, Availability, Identity Verification, Applicant Experience, Fee & Deposit, Submission Prevention Rules, Autoresponder Messages, PDF Output

  • Renamed and combined settings:

    • Registration Form is now Application Registration Form.

    • Payment and Deposit are combined into Fee & Deposit.

    • The PDF settings are combined into PDF Output.

    • Several applicant-facing settings are grouped under Applicant Experience.

    • Submission Prevention Rules relocated from Content to Settings.

🧠 Good to Know: Allow a minute or two after saving: changes to application settings, including window dates and Late Submission Rules, take one to two minutes to take effect.

Benefit Header

Admissions teams running deadline-driven programs stop hand-toggling applications on and off, including at midnight, and a missed toggle can no longer turn away valid applicants or keep accepting submissions past a deadline. Plus, every application setting now lives in one place in the navigation, so configuring an application means working through a single organized list instead of moving between separate areas to find each setting.
