Overview Header

Case Management is out of Open Beta and generally available as of September 1, 2026. The module pairs Alerts, the one-time signals that something needs attention, with Cases, the owned and ongoing work to resolve a student's issue, so an early alert becomes follow-through someone is accountable for.

General availability means the feature set is settled and fully supported. Types, statuses, priorities, and templates are stable, both automation engines are complete, and Bolt AI analysis runs on every case. Institutions on the Student Success package can now roll Case Management out to advisors, success staff, and faculty as a production workflow rather than a trial.

Details Header
  • What general availability changes: Case Management is no longer labeled a beta feature.

    • Stable behavior: During Open Beta, settings and behavior could still change between releases. At GA they are settled, so the configuration you build now will not need rework as the module matures.

    • Final documentation: The full help center library is published without beta notices, including Getting Started, Alerts, Cases, Settings, Automation, Permissions, and the FAQ.

    • No action required: Schools that used Case Management during Open Beta keep their existing types, templates, rules, alerts, and cases. There is no migration or re-setup step.

  • What is included at GA: The complete module, available to institutions on the Student Success package.

    • Alerts: A triage-first workflow for one-time signals such as missed classes, grade risk, or wellbeing concerns. Every alert has a Reviewer accountable for the next step: resolve it, dismiss it, or escalate it to a Case.

    • Cases: The system of record for ongoing work, with custom statuses layered on four fixed status groups, a single Assignee, Subscribers for awareness, and per-case privacy for sensitive situations.

    • Related work in one view: Cases link Tasks, Conversations, Appointments, Documents, Alerts, and Bolt Agent Jobs while each item keeps its native behavior and permissions.

    • Timeline: A chronological activity feed on every alert and case, so handoffs do not depend on reconstructing context from memory.

    • Bolt AI: Bolt Analysis writes a briefing on every case covering what is happening, what matters about the student, and recommended next steps that are actionable from the panel. Bolt Agent Jobs handle routine outreach, with their activity visible on the record.

    • Two automation engines: A dedicated Automation Rules engine inside Case Management Settings for routing and handling, plus the platform-wide Workflows + Rules module when alert activity needs to coordinate with communications or journeys. Both support dynamic assignment through Contact Assignee and Network Role tokens.

    • Templates: Reusable Alert and Case templates that pre-fill fields on manual creation and inside rules and workflows, with exact or relative due dates.

    • Import and export: Bulk import and export through the standard Import + Export module, including external ID matching for safe re-syncs from an SIS or early-alert vendor.

    • Portal for faculty: A lightweight interface for internal users who submit and track alerts without needing full platform access, including bulk submission.

    • Reporting: Alert and Case properties as segment filters, plus the Student Success and Management dashboards for volume, resolution timelines, escalation conversion, and workload balance.

    • Daily digest email: A once-daily summary of relevant activity and upcoming due dates, sent only when there is something to report.

    • Layered permissions: Access controlled by permission level, alert and case type visibility, contact visibility groups, case privacy, and the native permissions of related objects.

  • In case you missed it: The last two beta releases shipped the final GA capabilities. See the Case Management Improvements release note for dynamic assignment tokens, Bolt Agent Job activity on records, fuller Case Automation Rules, shared course selection for multi-student alerts, and rich text descriptions, and the Import + Export for Alerts and Cases release note for the data portability details.

  • Continuing development: Case Management continues to evolve after general availability. We review partner feature requests as they come in and take them on as capacity allows.

Benefit Header

Student success teams that waited out the beta can now commit to Case Management as their system of record, knowing the configuration they build today will hold. For schools already live, GA changes nothing operationally; it confirms that the workflow carrying their at-risk students is production-ready and fully supported.
